To make a long story short, once we found a place (which was a very interesting part of town, on the water, but had several signs that read a human burial ground), the camera had no battery to shoot.
Trying to sneak into several places to charge the battery and get the job done, my friend and I settled for some Starbucks and watching the new movie Bridesmaids.
It was an interesting day, mostly full of laughter. It ended the bordem, especially when we argued over which was funnier-The Hangover or Bridesmaids.
And so my cute outfit does not completely go to waist, here it is in a nutshell.
| Hat: Aldo, Shirt: Bellatrix, Necklace: Stein Mart, Skirt: Goodwill, Belt: Goodwill, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell |
This outfit idea came from the last post about thrifting. This skirt is on the wild side but does fit in with the trend of safari/tribal. It is a bold piece that many would not wear (including the person who donated it to the Goodwill) but I thought I could make something work.
The piece is very unique and this morning, while trying it on, I felt very hesitant to go out in public. Once I thought about the fact that it would photograph well and be worth it...I kept it on.
In doing so, through the day I gained confidence in what I was wearing and received several compliments on the ensemble!! :)
This proves the potential that can come out of the Goodwill and it also brings up another good point...mix and match what you are wearing with old and new...more or likely no one will know the difference.
Walk the talk and wear something out of the ordinary, I am sure you will be thrilled with the response.
