Fall in Love

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! I think that it is when you have the best chances to dress well and show off your style.

In getting into the spirit, I have been looking at the upcoming fall trends expected for this year.

The sixties are back and expect people to take subtle hints from their favorite style icons such as Aubrey Hepburn and Jackie O'
This was the time that the mini was developed and when world peace was the main concern.
Many  of today's designers took concepts and made them their own, like anything else with designers and fashion, style is cyclical but always evolving.
For example, that Yves Saint Laurent's 70's style was recently on everyone's minds so I think to turn to 60's for the next season seemed the most reasonable.

Here are some runway pictures from Fall 2011collections:

Aquilano.Rimondi

Jill Sander

Rochas

A trend that will please many is the continuation of color blocking into fall.  This will be the main trend that will allow many to transition from the summer months into the fall with some of the same pieces of clothing.

DKNY

Chloe

Bottega Veneta
A similar trend to color blocking as well as a good transition trend, is the mix and match of both patterns and textures.
Take that flowy skirt from the summer that might be a light linen or a possible lace and pair it with a past fall blazer in tweed or a leather jacket.

Michael van der Ham

Rag & Bone

In talking about fashion being cyclical, another trend that is being recycled is faux fur.  There is an update to the rend however, with doing bolder designs to bolder colors.

Valentino

The Row

Prada
Another popular trend for this fall is, my favorite, the tuxedo jacket.  A tribute to the trend here to stay-menswear.  Nothing is bigger than the generalized relationship between fashion and those questioning whether something is feminine or masculine.
Androgynous models, looks, and clothing all find themselves to thrive in the world of fashion.

Acne

Balmain

Givenchy

There are a couple of other trends but I really should be going to bed, so this will be continued tomorrow.
Walk the talk and follow the trends....but do make them your own!!
